The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is going to conduct elections all over the Pakistan on February 8, 2024. It was decided to establish 92,500 polling stations nationwide. ECP | Election Commission Pakistan Set Polling Stations in Punjab and Sindh
Punjab is the most populated province, therefore for upcoming general elections Punjab will give 51,821 polling stations against 438 national and provincial constituencies. On the other hand, it has been determined that Sindh will have 19,236 polling stations 191 seats.
ECP | Election Commission Pakistan Set Polling Stations in Islamabad, KPK and Baluchistan
In KPK, for 160 seats, 15,737 polling stations will establish for 160 seat. while for the election of 66 seats, in Baluchistan, 5,015 polling stations will set up.
In the territory of the capital of Pakistan, in Islamabad 900 polling stations will set up for three constituencies.
Election Monitoring and Control Centers
Election Commission of Pakistan has established Election Monitoring and Control Centers for public, to register the complaints for general elections.
The ECP local chapter sources told APP that the centers had been established at provincial, divisional and district levels, extending beyond Islamabad, for swift resolution. Trained personnel has been deployed at these centers to resolve the complaints.
The control rooms will maintain communication with relevant personnel and stakeholders, including preliminary findings, Returning Officers and District Returning Officers.

Individuals can register complaints related to the general elections with EMCC staff by emailing complaints to complaints@ecp.gov.pk.
Scrutiny of Nomination Papers
It is important to note that scrutiny of nomination papers was extended up to December 30, so that candidates may submit their papers for general elections.
Assignment of Electoral Emblems
Until Wednesday last week, nomination papers can be appealed. Decisions about these appeals will be made by the 10th of the following month.
On January 11, the preliminary list of candidates will be made available, and by January 12, candidates may withdraw their candidature papers.
By the 13th of January, the electoral emblems will be assigned, and on February 8, general elections will take place.
ECP | Election Commission Pakistan Accepted Nomination Paper
ECP has approved nomination paper of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers filed in NA 130 (Lahore) and have been accepted as no objection. The nomination papers of PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz were approved from provincial constituency whereas objections were filed on the National Assembly seat.
The ECP also approved the nomination papers of former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari from NA 207 (Nawabshah).

A person shall be entitled to be enrolled as a voter in an electoral area if he—
- is a citizen of Pakistan.
- is not less than eighteen years of age.
- possesses a National Identity Card issued by the National Database and Registration Authority at any time till the last day fixed for inviting claims, objections and applications for preparation, revision or correction of electoral rolls.
